My O Gauge Journal on
 Modelling the GWR

A personal Journey

The working environment

As the majority of my time is taken up in building kits and buildings etc of all sorts of which this journal is a result, I thought it prudent to show what a tip my building environment is. It also doubles for a research and design office as well but exclusively for the purposes of this hobby.

It consists of several sections, (click any image for a larger view):

Shop A
This is where most of the kit building takes place. A precision vice on the right hand end of the table detatchable.

Shop B

This is where aside building takes place. You build things here that need to be set aside for one reason or another. Also carry out major construction drilling and shaping. A new Metz roller and Proxxon precision 360' vice and the Dremmel vertical drill stand and new Dremmel power drill.

Then there is the general storage area which includes the floor for all things paint like, brass like and plastic like, etc, etc, etc.

This is where I have to admit that I am lucky in the amount of space I have and the workshop for the railway is on the ground floor and comprises of a Hornby Dublo collection as well as an IT area. If you click the bins below all will be revealed.

If you noticed the stairs in the background, this leads up to the main railway room!

But it doesn't stop there because I have a further workshop containing a pillar drill stand, floor standing band saw, a large work bench and automat lathe and a collection of wood working tools. All useful in the construction of a railway!
