Turntable issues resolved using a new unit from ABC Gears

I'd built this turntable some time ago but the drive unit it comes with is prone to temperature issues which means that the rubber connector tends not to drive the table consistently. I tried using gear and sprocket chains but the meccano type arrangement kept slipping. So I found out that ABC gears was making a self contained unit to drive said turntable and I ordered one, noting that it had to be connected to a spindle of a certain size. No problem they said and it duly turned up several months later.

The unit is screwed to the underside of the turntable. It has a high gearing ratio and is solidly constructed

I use an old Hornby controller to drive it, (available on eBay for less than a fiver!).
